Acne comes in many shapes, forms, and sizes - all that can be caused by many different factors. It can be caused by bacteria getting trapped in pores, hormones, stress, poor hygiene, or even something as simple as the types of food you eat. Dr. Dendy of Manhattan Dermatology & Cosmetic Surgery sat down with us to explain each type of acne in depth and what the cause can be.
Acne forms when the openings of hair follicles become clogged and blocked with oil and dead skin cells - (yuck, we know.) If the clogged pore becomes infected with bacteria, it then forms a pimple.
You can help keep your skin clear by doing small things everyday like washing your face every morning and night, never sleeping with makeup on, or drinking tons of water.
