Peace Out’s Guide To Self-Tanner Prep

July 14 2021

Ready for a bronzed glow sans the sun? Us too. If you’re like us, self-tanner is a must, especially during the summer months. While you may have your body tanning routine down to a science, we’re here to help prep your face for an even, glowing complexion!

When it comes to self-tanning the face, it’s all about exfoliation. Not only does it help remove dead skin cells, but it creates a smooth ‘canvas’ for your self-tanner. The last thing we want is a blotchy, uneven tan––yikes. So, here’s our 2-step exfoliation guide to help prep your skin for a bronzed glow.

24 Hours Before Tanning: Treat with Peace Out Dullness

We love using Peace Out Dullness 24 hours prior to self-tanning. We like to call this our ~instant facial~. It’s packed with a 7-brightening acid complex consisting of AHAs, BHA and PHA to leave your face baby-smooth and remove any dead skin cells.

Right Before Tanning: Cleanse Peace Out Blemish Balm

Right before you self-tan, cleanse your skin with our Blemish Balm. Our daily exfoliating cleanser will wash away any dirt or oil that’s built up on your skin––without stripping away any moisture. This is key as self-tanner usually ‘sticks’ to dry patches, so this will help avoid any unwanted patchiness.

Now, you’re ready for your self-tanner! Try dropping a few Isle of Paradise Tanning drops into your serum or moisturizer for a natural glow. Just massage it directly on your cleansed skin, blending down onto your neck and chest. Oh, and don’t forget to wash your hands after!
