As an LGBTQ founded company, protecting the emotional and mental health of our youth is more than important––it is crucial. Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and/or questioning (LGBTQ) youth experience higher rates of mental illness compared to their straight, cisgender peers as a result of chronic stressors such as discrimination and victimization.
Did you know that:
We know we must use our voice and platform to bring awareness to these rising statistics in order to stop them. Throughout Mental Health Awareness month, Peace Out Skincare is partnering with The Trevor Project to support their tireless efforts in helping our LGBTQ youth.
What’s The Trevor Project?
Founded in 1998 by the creators of the Academy Award-winning short film TREVOR, The Trevor Project is the world’s largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and/or questioning (LGBTQ) youth under 25.
The non-profit supports our youth through free and confidential suicide prevention and crisis intervention programs via a 24/7 phone line, chat, and text. They’re also home to TrevorSpace, the world’s largest safe space social networking site for LGBTQ youth. Their research, education and advocacy programs are unmatched and continue to save lives daily.
